Introduction and Practice of Orienteering Sport

Introduction and Practice of Orienteering Sport

Contributions of the workshop:

To promote orienteering in schools through the introduction of the branch and the opportunity to practice

Implementing orienteering, a nature sport, will be instrumental in promoting other nature sports. It will enable children and young people, especially those growing up in the city, to get to know nature and animals.

The variable training areas in the orienteering branch will enable children and young people to participate without getting bored.

The harmonization of theoretical and practical trainings in orienteering, and the importance of knowledge and its use will be emphasized immediately after putting the theoretical knowledge into practice.

Thanks to the diversity of the orienteering branch, children and young people have more fun and contribute significantly to their socialization through teamwork.

Thanks to map reading and interpretation knowledge, children and young people's analytical intelligence and three-dimensional perception skills are improved.

It will emphasize the importance of Nature Education and Nature Sports.

It will bring up issues such as environmental awareness and love of nature.

Geography, mathematics, science, and physical education studies are carried out continuously and without making the child feel it.

Due to the nature of the orienteering branch, the struggle is both physical and mental. The fact that the athlete is in various efforts such as map reading, direction finding, and environmental control while exerting effort brings attention and concentration to the forefront.

Thanks to its feature of being a sports branch that can be done as a family, it contributes to family integrity and communication within the family.

In the workshop, theoretical information about the orienteering branch will be given and the participants will be allowed to practice.
